Built on a 2-nanometer process, the A20 Pro combines a six-core CPU with a seven-core GPU, which Apple claims delivers performance up to 40% faster than the A19 Pro. It features a Dual 16-core Neural Engine with 32 cores in total. The new thermal system connects the processor more directly to a larger vapor chamber, offering three times the surface area of the previous generation. This design aims to boost sustained performance during intensive tasks.
Battery life has been extended on both models, with larger improvements seen in eSIM-only versions. The iPhone 18 Pro provides up to 36 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max can reach up to 45 hours. Wired accessories can charge the Pro model to 50% in approximately 15 minutes. The eSIM-only variants replace the physical SIM tray and will launch in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Running on iOS 27, the iPhone 18 Pro series supports the latest Apple Intelligence features. Siri AI enters beta testing on September 14 for supported devices configured in English. Siri AI can utilize personal context from messages, emails, and photos when responding to requests, and it can also interpret on-screen information. Preorders open at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on September 12, with retail availability starting September 18 in the initial markets, followed by 20 additional countries and regions on September 25.
