MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – In the period from January to July 2026, Russia’s exports excluding resources and energy topped $96 billion, reflecting an 8% rise compared to the same timeframe in the previous year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced the year-on-year growth in his latest update on Russian exports. This category omits the country’s traditional raw material and energy shipments. The seven-month outcome follows an increase recorded during the first half of 2026. All figures are denominated in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov revealed that small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the total export figure for the first seven months. This amount accounts for around 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports during this period. Currently, approximately 42,700 small and midsize companies are involved in export activities. These SMEs also represented 1,042 of the 1,341 applications for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards, submitted across all eight federal districts and 76 Russian regions.

Data from the first half of 2026 show Russia’s industrial non-resource, non-energy exports reached $58.8 billion from January through June. In comparison, the same period in 2025 saw $57.1 billion. This indicates about a 3% year-on-year growth in the industrial export segment. The Industry and Trade Ministry highlighted several manufacturing categories that experienced increased foreign sales, providing further insight into the sectors driving Russia’s non-resource export success in 2026.

Growth observed in key industrial sectors

Exports of chemical products rose by 5.3% during the first half compared with the same period in 2025. Mineral and chemical fertilizer shipments increased by 10.4% over those six months. Exports from metallurgy and precious metals saw a 5% increase, while light industry experienced a substantial 25% growth. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics also reported an 11% rise. All these figures relate to industrial shipments classified within Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export category. The reported growth rates compare January through June 2026 to the corresponding months in the previous year.

For the full year of 2026, Russia has set a target of $155.25 billion for non-resource, non-energy exports. Of this, industrial goods are expected to make up $116.95 billion. In 2025, Russia achieved $163.7 billion in exports within this category. Consequently, the 2026 goal is roughly 5% below last year’s total. These targets are part of the country’s International Cooperation and Export national project, which encompasses industrial goods, agricultural products, and export-support infrastructure.

Long-term export targets for Russia’s non-resource goods remain ambitious

The International Cooperation and Export initiative also establishes a target of $248.1 billion in nominal terms for non-resource and non-energy merchandise exports by 2030. This figure represents a 67% increase compared to the 2023 baseline used by the program. Industrial products are expected to account for $192.9 billion of this goal. The Russian Export Center is involved in supporting these efforts through various services, including digital platforms designed for companies engaged in international trade.

The latest statistics indicate Russia’s exports excluding resources and energy from January through July have surpassed $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. The first-half industrial exports hit $58.8 billion and showed growth across sectors such as chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceuticals. These 2026 figures are calculated in U.S. dollars rather than rubles. The annual target for the broader non-resource category remains at $155.25 billion, with industrial goods alone aiming for $116.95 billion within that total.
